Shepherd University Athletics

Russell was a four-year standout for the Ram men's basketball team, earning All-America status in 1975, he was Shepherd's first basketball player to earn the honors.  Holds the record for most points scored in a season, all-time leading scorer, earned All-WVIAC honors in 1973, '74 and '75.  Named to All-WVIAC tournament team for 1973, '74 and '75 seasons.  Russell was signed by two NBA teams and played professional ball in Europe.
