Excelled in swimming, earning NAIA All-America honors from 1982 to 1985. She is only one of four SC swimmers to have earned All-America Honors in each of her varsity seasons. She is the only Shepherd swimmer to ever win back-to-back national championships in the same event, the 400 individual medley, in 1983 and 1984. She set a national record in the 400 individual medley in 1983 and is the school record holder in the 200-yard butterfly and 400 individual medley. In addition to the two national records, she earned 15 top 6 finishes at the NAIA National Championships during her four years. She won eight individual tri-state swimming and diving championships.
