Thirteen Rams Gain All-PSAC East Football Honors

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Thirteen members of the Shepherd Universty football team have been named to the 2023 All-PSAC East Football Team as announced by the league office today. Seven Rams gained first team honors, while six were second team selections.

Junior quarterback Seth Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon/VMI), redshirt-sophomore offensive guard Ty Lucas (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg), redshirt-junior center James Bell (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester), junior wide receiver Jeremiah Taylor (Upper Marlboro, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School/Fairmont State), freshman return specialist Miles Greer (Springfield, Va./South County), junior defensive lineman Jack Baxter (Sykesville, Md./Marriotts Ridge), and sophomore defensive back Omari Terry (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy) were first team selections.

Morgan completed 226-of-337 passes for 2,761 yards and 23 touchdowns. He completed 20 passes or more in six contests. He was a two-time PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week choice.

Lucas and Bell help anchor an offensive line that helps Shepherd rank sixth nationally in completion percentage (.673) and average 32.7 points per game.

Taylor leads the Rams in receptions (61), receiving yards (786), and touchdown receptions (8). He has four games with 100 receiving yards or more.

Greer ranked fourth nationally in punt returns with a 16.8 average. He had an 86-yard punt return for a score against Southern Connecticut State.

Baxter has recorded 44 tackles (21 solos). He has 7.5 tackles-for-loss (-47 yards) and 4.0 sacks (-24 yards). He added a pass breakup and a quarterback hit.

Terry has posted 38 tackles with 24 solo stops. He adds 6.5 tackles-for-loss (-21 yards) and a sack (-27 yards). Terry also has two pass breakups, an interception, and a forced fumble.

Redshirt-junior running back Malakai Brown (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg), redshirt-sophomore offensive tackle Chandler Brown (Gainesville, Va./Patriot), redshirt-sophomore Brandon Carr (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), sophomore kicker James Bozek (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield), redshirt-sophomore defensive lineman Nathan Muhle (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson), and junior linebacker Harold O'Neal (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg/E. Tennessee State) were second team choices.

Malakai Brown leads the Rams in carries (173), rushing yards (1,025), rushing touchdowns (8) and total touchdowns (9). He added 36 receptions for 217 yards. Brown also has 10 kickoff returns for 276 yards, including a 100-yard return for a touchdown.

Chandler Brown and Carr help anchor an offensive line that helps Shepherd rank sixth nationally in completion percentage (.673) and average 32.7 points per game.

Bozek tops the team in scoring with 68 points. He has connected on 44-of-47 extra points and has been successful on 8-of-9 field goal attempts.

Muhle has 21 tackles (12 solos) with 7.5 tackles-for-loss (-55 yards) and three sacks (-41 yards). He added a pass breakup.

O'Neal is second on the team with 59 tackles (29 solos). He added three pass breakups and a forced fumble.
