Biography

2016:  Appeared in all 14 games.  Named to All-MEC First Team as he recorded a team high 108 tackles including 76 solo and 11 for loss (-39 yards).  Added 5.5 sacks (-31 yards), three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hits, one interception and one pass break up. Also named to D2CCA All-Super Region 1 First Team.  Named to Don Hansen's Football Gazette All Super Region 1 First Team Defense, honorable mention selection for the 2016 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team.

2015: Appeared and started in 12 games. Gained second team All-MEC honors as he recorded 70 tackles (41 solo) with 8.5 tackles-for-loss (-27 yards) and 2.0 sacks (-13 yards). Added two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup.

2014: Appeared and started in all 10 games. Garnered first team All-MEC accolades as he recorded 65 tackles (39 solo) with 9.5 tackles-for-loss (-45 yards) and four sacks (-34 yards). Added two pass breakups, a fumble recovery, and an interception. Returned a fumble 20 yards for a score in a win over West Virginia Wesleyan.

2013: Appeared and started in all 12 games. Garnered Second Team All-MEC and MEC Defensive Freshman of the Year accolades as he recorded 65 tackles (39 solo) with 9.5 tackles-for-loss (-45 yards) and four sacks (-34 yards). Added two pass breakups, a fumble recovery, and an interception.

Personal: The son of Perry and Octavia Thomas. A 2013 graduate of Myrtle Beach HS, Thomas is majoring in sport communication. His brother, Perry Thomas II, played football at Averett University.
