SHEPHERD FOOTBALL ADDS FIFTEEN

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University head football coach Monte Cater
announced today that 15 more student-athletes have signed letters-of-intent to play
football for Shepherd in 2007. Amongthe group are nine players from Maryland, three
from Virginia, and one each from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Ricky Congo (Bowie, MD/Archbishop Spalding), a defensive
lineman, lettered in football and basketball at Archbishop Spalding.
Congo earned First Team All-County honors from the Capital-Gazette
and the Baltimore Sun. He also garnered Second Team All-Met honors
from the Sun and was a Second Team All-State selection.

Dan DePalma (Verona, NJ/Verona), a wide receiver/defensive
back, was a First Team All-State choice on offense and a First Team
All-County choice on defense. He had 41 receptions for 827 yards and
13 touchdowns as a senior. He also had 20 tackles, three
interceptions, and three fumble recoveries.

Michael Geraghty (Perkasie, PA/Massanutten), a
quarterback/linebacker, lettered in football, basketball, baseball,
and track. He earned First Team All-State honors as a linebacker and
honorable mention All-State accolades as a quarterback. He recorded
75 tackles with 13 sacks, 18 tackles-for-loss, four forced fumbles,
and two fumble recoveries as a senior. Geraghty also passed for 850
yards and eight touchdowns, while rushing for 300 yards and three
scores.

Ryan Gilligan (Myersville, MD/Middletown), a tight
end/defensive lineman, lettered in football, basketball and track at
Middletown. Gilligan earned Second Team All-State honors at defensive
tackle and was an All-Gazette choice on offense and defense. Gilligan
had 52 tackles with 26 tackles-for-loss, 18.5 sacks, and three
blocked kicks as a senior. He also added 12 catches for 253 yards and
two touchdowns.

Jarell Hasan (Hagerstown, MD/North Hagerstown), a wide
receiver, lettered in football, lacrosse, basketball and track at
North Hagerstown. Hasan earned First Team honors from the Herald-Mail
and was a Second Team All-State selection. Hasan had 30 receptions
for 704 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior.

John Kerr (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge), an offensive tackle,
was a three-year starter at Woodbridge. He is a three-time
All-District selection and has been chosen to play in the Virginia
All-Star game. Kerr recorded 48 pancake blocks and did not allow a
sack in his senior year.

Kevin Linehan (Frederick, MD/Middletown), a defensive back,
lettered in baseball and football at Middletown. A two-time
All-Conference selection at quarterback and defensive back, Linehan
was an All-State selection at defensive back as a senior. He recorded
85 career tackles with 42 solo stops and also had 11 career
interceptions.

Patrick Madaj (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly), a center, was a
member of the AAA Northern Region Champion team at Chantilly. Madaj
was a First Team All-District and All-Region choice. He was also an
Honorable Mention All-Met selection.

Paul McDonald (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill), a linebacker,
was a First Team All-County honoree. A two-time Defensive Player of
the Week selection, McDonald gained Second Team All-Conference and
Honorable Mention All-State honors.

Ben Minturn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus), a defensive back,
lettered in football and wrestling at Damascus. He was a member of
two State Champion football teams for the Hornets. Minturn was a
First Team All-County choice and a Second Team All-Gazette selection.

Tom Oswald (Silver Spring, MD/Sherwood), an
offensive/defensive lineman, was a three-year letterwinner at
Sherwood.  Oswald, who played on back-to-back state finalist teams,
earned Montgomery 4A All-Met Offensive Line honors. He also gained
All-Sentinel and All-Gazette accolades.

Ryan Peacock (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor), a defensive
end/linebacker, lettered in football, wrestling and track at Digital
Harbor. Peacock gained BTC All-Star honors. He recorded 50 tackles
with three forced fumbles and three interceptions.

Jon Schwartz (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis), a linebacker, was a
three-year letterwinner in football at Annapolis. A two-time First
Team All-County choice, Schwartz was also a two-time Honorable
Mention All-State selection. He record 305 career tackles and led the
county in tackles in his junior and senior years.

Joshua Spring (Lovettsville, VA/Loudoun Valley), an offensive
lineman, lettered in football, track, and wrestling at Loudoun
Valley. A two-time All-District choice, Spring gained Honorable
Mention All-Met accolades from the Washington Post.

Jacob Waugh (Berkeley Springs, WV/Berkeley Springs), and
offensive lineman, lettered in football and baseball at Berkeley
Springs. A First Team All-State selection, Waugh recorded 77 pancakes
and allowed only one sack. He also earned First Team honors from The
Journal and the Herald-Mail.
