SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Matt Slaninka, a center on the Shepherd University men's basketball team from 2001-06, has signed on to play for the Delaware Stars of the United States Basketball League. The Stars, based out of Wilmington, are playing their inaugural season in the USBL this spring. The 7-foot-4 Slaninka spent most of the winter playing professionally in Europe.
