Shepherd Volleyball Downs Urbana

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University handed Urbana a 3-1 setback in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Rams posted a 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-16 victory.
Junior middle hitter Kayla Motheral (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) and sophomore right side Anna Roper (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown) each had 11 kills to lead the Rams. Roper also added four aces and 16 digs.
Junior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) contributed 42 assists, while sophomore right side/libero Taylor Allen (Inwood, WV/Musselman) had 28 digs.
Chelsea Kinderl had 12 kills to pace the Blue Knights.
Shepherd improves to 12-12, 7-5 in MEC action, while Urbana drops to 7-16, 3-8. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Fairmont State for a 7 p.m. match.
