CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to University of Charleston in MEC men's soccer action at Charleston on Saturday night.
The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead just 14 seconds into the contest when Augusto Maciel scored on an assist from Leighton Richards.
Charleston took a 2-0 lead into halftime when Nathan Schmitt scored off a feed from Lewis Osborne at the 32:13 mark.
Alexander Gallardo scored on an assist from Osborne at the 48:00 mark to complete the scoring

Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport ) had three saves for the Rams, while Fabian Veit did not record a save for the Golden Eagles.
Charleston had a 15-2 advantage in shots, while corner kicks were even at 3-3.
Shepherd drops to 1-3-0, 0-1-0, while Charleston improves to 3-1-0, 1-0-0. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Concord for a 3 p.m. contest.
