SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior defender Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) scored on a pass from sophomore defender/midfielder Kelsey Fletcher (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) at the 87:49 mark to lift Shepherd University to a 1-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit in MEC women's soccer action at the Shepherd Soccer Complex on Sunday.

Shepherd had a 15-6 advantage in shots, while Wheeling Jesuit held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Wise (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) tallied four saves for the Rams, while Carley Kordas had three saves for the Cardinals.

Shepherd improves to 4-1-1, 2-0-1 in MEC play, while Wheeling Jesuit falls to 2-4-0, 1-2-0. The Rams return to action on Monday when they host Chowan for a 2 p.m. contest.
