Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Senior guard Brantley Osborne Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) poured in a game and season-high 31 points, but Notre Dame College held off Shepherd University for an 82-77 victory in MEC men's basketball action on Saturday.
Osborne was 11-of-24 from the floor with a 7-of-16 effort from three-point range. He added 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Jarvis Huntley had 23 points and Kalomo Figueroa-Jackson added 18 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Falcons.
Shepherd shot 37.2 percent (29-78) from the floor with a 29 percent (9-31) effort from three-point range. The Rams connected on 10-of-18 free throws (55.6 percent).
Notre Dame shot 40.6 percent (26-64) from the floor with a 4-of-24 effort (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc. The Falcons hit on 26-of-38 free throws (68.4 percent).
Notre Dame had a 52-43 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 11 turnovers and committed just nine.
The Falcons took a 29-28 lead into intermission. Notre Dame grabbed the lead for good in the second half at 51-48 with 12 minutes remaining on a three-pointer by Figueroa-Jackson.
Shepherd falls to 9-2, 4-1 in conference action, while Notre Dame College improves to 4-7, 2-3. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Urbana for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
