Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va.  –  Shepherd University handed host University of Charleston a 3-0 setback in MEC volleyball action at University of Charleston on Saturday. The Rams earned a 25-15, 25-23, 25-21 victory. Shepherd has won six of its last seven matches.

Senior middle hitter Katie Beecher (Concord, NC./Concord/Liberty) had 11 kills. Senior opposite/outside hitter Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) and freshman right side/setter Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) each added 10 kills. Bour also added eight digs.

Senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) had 33 assists and seven digs and junior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) contributed nine digs.

Melissa Reyes had 15 assists and nine digs to lead the Golden Eagles.

Shepherd improves to 14-6, 7-2 in MEC play, while Charleston falls to 3-14, 2-6.  The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to California (Pa.) for a 7 p.m. match.
