Box Score CALIFORNIA, Pa.  –  Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to California University of Pennsylvania in non-conference volleyball action at California (Pa.) on Tuesday night. Cal earned a 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 victory.

Senior middle hitter Kayla Motheral (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls), junior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman), and freshman right side/setter Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) each recorded five kills to lead the Rams. Allen also had a team-high 12 digs.

Senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) had 21 assists and seven digs, while junior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) contributed  10 digs.

Danielle Hayes and Laurel Miller each had 10 kills to lead the Vulcans.

Shepherd falls to 14-7, while California (Pa.) improves to 19-5.  The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Glenville State for a 7 p.m. match.
