Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.  –  Shepherd University handed Glenville State a 3-0 defeat in Mountain East Conference volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. Shepherd recorded a 25-17, 25-13, 25-11 victory.

Freshman right side/setter Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino)  and junior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman)  each had seven kills for the Rams. Helgesen had an impressive .600 attack percentage. Senior opposite/outside hitter Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) added six kills and a match-high 18 digs.

Senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) had 18 assists, while sophomore setter Tommie Jo David (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) recorded 15.Jjunior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) contributed 10 digs and three aces.

Rachel Morris had 11 digs to lead the Pioneers.

Shepherd improves to 15-7, 8-2 in MEC action, while Glenville State falls to 1-20, 0-10.  The Rams return to action next Friday when they travel to Notre Dame College for a 7 p.m. match.
