Shepherd Women's Soccer Defeats West Virginia Wesleyan

Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Freshman forward Tanner Bradley (New Market, Md./Oakdale) scored on an assist from freshman midfielder Stephanie Cox (Damascus, Md./Damascus) at the 79:14 mark to lift Shepherd University to a 2-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in MEC women's soccer action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.  The Rams have won five of their last seven contests.

Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when Cox scored on an assist from senior midfielder Kasey Canterbury (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) at the 39:30 mark.

The Bobcats tied the game at 1-all when Morgan Miles scored an unassisted tally at the 43:55 mark.

Sophomore goalkeeper Anna Mueller (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) recorded one save for the Rams, while Lauren Duncan had seven saves for the Bobcats.

Shots were even at 10-10 and the Bobcats had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Shepherd improves to 8-7-1 overall, 6-6-0 in MEC play, while West Virginia Wesleyan drops to 8-3-2, 4-2-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Urbana for Senior Day at noon.
