Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Fairmont State gained 3-1 win over Shepherd University in Mountain East Conference volleyball action at Fairmont State on Tuesday night. The Falcons recorded a 25-22, 21-25, 26-24, 25-15 victory.

Senior right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) recorded a match-high 18 kills and nine digs to pace the Rams.

Freshman right side/setter Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) added nine kills, while junior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) recorded eight kills and 15 digs.

Senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) recorded 38 assists and 12 digs and junior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had a match-high 13 digs and four aces.

Kaitlyn Witsaman had 16 kills and 10 digs to lead the Falcons.

Shepherd falls to 16-9, 9-4 in MEC action, while Fairmont State improves to 20-5, 11-2. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. match.
