Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Senior forward 
Morgan McDonald (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Shepherd University to a 75-73 win over Davis & Elkins in men's basketball action at Davis & Elkins on Wednesday night.
McDonald connected on 9-of-19 shots from the floor with a 4-of-7 effort from three-point range.
Junior guard 
Garett Burkhead (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill/Mount Olive) added a career-high 19 points with 15 coming from three point-range. Junior forward 
Ryan McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Presbyterian) added 11 points, while senior guard 
Austin Cunningham (Vincent, Ohio/Warren Local/Ohio Valley) had 10 points and four assists.
Kevin Bracy-Davis scored 19 points and Juwan Strothers added 17 to lead the Senators.
Shepherd rallied from a 33-27 halftime deficit and took the lead for good when  Burkhead drained a three-pointer with 3:17 remaining to give the Rams a 70-69 advantage.
McDonald hit a layup and the Rams sunk 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch to hang on for the win.
Shepherd hit on 28-of-66 field goals (42.4 percent) with a 7-of-10 (70 percent) effort from the foul line in the victory. The Rams hit on 12-of-22 three-pointers (54.5 percent).
Davis and Elkins connected on 30-of-56 field goals (53.6 percent) with a 3-of-13 effort from beyond the arc (23.1 percent). The Senators were 10-of-15 from the foul line (66.7 percent).
Shepherd improves to 3-0, while Davis & Elkins falls to 0-2. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Glenville State for a 4 p.m. contest.
