Box Score GLENVILLE, W.Va. –Dante Morales scored a game-high 37 points to lead Glenville State to a 103-93 win over Shepherd University in MEC men's basketball action at Glenville State on Saturday.
Senior forward
Morgan McDonald (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) led the Rams with a career-high 31 points and nine rebounds. McDonald connected on 10-of-15 shots from the floor with a 3-of-6 effort from three-point range. He was 8-of-10 from the foul line.
Junior forward
Ryan McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Presbyterian) added 18 points and five boards, while freshman guard
Steffen Davis (Accokeek, Md./Maret School) had 12 points off the bench.
Senior guard
Austin Cunningham (Vincent, Ohio/Warren Local/Ohio Valley) had 10 points and a game-high seven assists.
Morales hit on 11-of-13 field goals with a 6-of-7 effort from beyond the arc for the Pioneers. He drained 9-of-13 free throws. Reggie Williams added 26 points and six assists.
Shepherd hit on 33-of-69 field goals (47 percent) with a 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) effort from three-point range. The Rams hit on 15-of-29 free throws (78.9 percent).
Glenville State connected on 33-of-56 field goals (58.9 percent) with a 16-of-28 effort from beyond the arc (57.1 percent). The Pioneers were 21-of-30 from the foul line (70 percent).
Shepherd had a 37-29 rebounding advantage.
Shepherd falls to 3-1, 0-1 in MEC play, while Glenville State improves to 3-1, 1-0. The Rams return to action on Monday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
