Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-1 decision to Pitt-Johnstown in non-conference volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday night.  The Mountain Cats recorded a 28-26, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21 victory.

Freshman right side/setter Kayleigh Helgesen (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) had 17 kills and senior opposite/outside hitter Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) added 16 to lead the Rams. Bour also added 14 digs.

Senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) recorded 44 assists and 19 digs, while junior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had 19 digs and three aces.

Cambria Wierman had 17 kills and 17 digs to lead the Mountain Cats.

Shepherd falls to 16-11, while Pitt-Johnstown improves to 18-11. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host West Liberty for a 7 p.m. match for Senior Night.
