Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior forward 
Morgan McDonald (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) scored a game-high 31 points to lead Shepherd University to a 91-79 win over  Davis & Elkins in non-conference men's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday night.
McDonald hit on 10-of-16 shots from the floor with a 3-of-4 effort from three-point range. He was 8-of-10 from the charity stripe. McDonald also grabbed six rebounds. His 31-point effort ties a career-high set against Glenville State earlier this season.
Senior guard 
Austin Cunningham (Vincent, Ohio/Warren Local/Ohio Valley) posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists. Freshman forward 
AJ Carr (Fairfax, Va./St. James School) had 14 points and five boards off the bench, while freshman guard 
Steffen Davis (Accokeek, Md./Maret School) was also in double figures with 10 points.
Junior forward 
Ryan McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Presbyterian) had six points and tied Alex Vasiljevic of Davis & Elkins for game-high rebounding honors with 10 rebounds.
Juwan Strothers had 22 points and Wesley Sprinkle added 15 to lead the Senators.
Davis & Elkins took a 36-34 lead into intermission behind 13 first half points from Strothers.
Shepherd opened the second half on a 22-9 run to take a 56-45 lead at the 11:23 left to pull away for the win. McDonald and freshman guard 
Skyler Roman (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) each had five points during the run.
Shepherd hit on 31-of-60 field goals (51.7 percent) with a 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) effort from three-point range. The Rams drained 25-of-31 free throws (80.6 percent).
Davis & Elkins connected on 28-of-57 field goals (49.1 percent) with a 9-of-22 effort (40.9 percent) from beyond the arc. The Senators were 14-of-18 from the foul line (77.8 percent).
Rebounds were even at 31 apiece. The Rams forced 19 turnovers and committed 11.
Shepherd improves to 6-3, while Davis & Elkins falls to 3-6. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Penn State Mont Alto for a 7 p.m. contest.
