Morgan McDonald (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) scored 24 points and freshman guard
Steffen Davis (Accokeek, Md./Maret School) added a career-high 21 points to lead Shepherd University to a 95-78 win over Penn State Mont Alto in non-conference men's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night.
McDonald hit on 7-of-8 shots from the floor with a 4-of-5 effort from three-point range. He was 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. McDonald also had five rebounds and three steals. Davis was 6-of-13 from the floor with a 5-of -11 performance from beyond the arc. He was 4-of-5 from the foul line.

Ryan McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Presbyterian) tossed in 12 points and senior guard
Austin Cunningham (Vincent, Ohio/Warren Local/Ohio Valley) added 11 points and a game-high six assists. Freshman forward
AJ Carr (Fairfax, Va./St. James School) chipped in with eight points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Jerome Evans had 19 points to lead Penn State Mont Alto. Sharif Welton added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Jeremiah Mitchell had 14 points and seven boards.
Shepherd took a 54-34 lead into intermission behind 20 first half points from McDonald. McDonald had a perfect first half shooting effort as he was 7-of-7 from the floor with a 4-for-4 effort from three-point range. He was also 2-for-2 from the foul line.
Shepherd hit on 32-of-69 field goals (46.4 percent) with a 13-of-31 (41.9 percent) effort from three-point range. The Rams drained 18-of-25 free throws (72 percent)
Penn State Mont Alto connected on 30-of-59 field goals (50.8 percent) with a 5-of-18 effort (27.8 percent) from beyond the arc. The Lions were 13-of-21 from the foul line (61.9 percent).
Rebounds were even at 36 apiece. The Rams forced 23 turnovers and committed 16.
Shepherd improves to 7-3, while Penn State Mont Alto falls to 7-3. The Rams are idle until Jan. 3 when they host Notre Dame College for a 4 p.m. contest.
