Shepherd Volleyball Falls to Wheeling Jesuit

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to Wheeling Jesuit in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Cardinals recorded a 25-16, 27-25, 25-15 win.
Senior middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had six kills, while senior outside hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood) and junior right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) each had five to lead the Rams. Lewis had seven digs and Bour added six.
Junior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) recorded 14 assists and freshman Tommie Jo David (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) contributed 12 assists and two aces.
Kayce Krucki had 10 kills and 16 digs, while Jenna Pew added eight kills and 25 assists to lead the Cardinals.
Shepherd falls to 8-8, 4-2 in MEC action, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 17-3, 5-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Liberty for a 1 p.m. match. The match was initially slated as a 4 p.m. start.
