SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Emily Fagan scored five goals and Emma Simmers added four to lead Seton Hill to a 19-11 win over Shepherd University in women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins also got three goals each from Charlotte Cunningham and Elizabeth Otwell.
Junior attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) led Shepherd with four goals. Sophomore midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) added three goals and two assists
Senior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, Md./Westminster), senior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, Md./Leonardtown), and junior attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) each added a goal and an assist, while sophomore attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, Md./Severn) tallied a goal.
Seton Hill had an 8-5 lead at halftime with Simmers scoring three first half goals.
Junior netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) recorded 11 saves for the Rams, while Meghan Hollar had eight saves for the Griffins.
Seton Hill held a 39-23 edge in shots and a 18-13 advantage in draw controls. The Griffins had a 27-26 edge in ground balls. Seton Hill was 16-of-16 on clears, while Shepherd was 13-of-18.
Shepherd falls to 5-3, while Seton Hill improves to 5-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Slippery Rock for a 1 p.m. contest.
