MIllersville Edges Shepherd Women's Lacrosse

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Hannah Vogel scored an unassisted goal with 22 seconds left in regulation to lift Millersville to a 15-14 win over Shepherd University in women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.

Vogel had five goals and an assist, while Brooke Fisher added four goals to lead the Marauders.

Sophomore midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) had three goals and two assists and senior midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, Md./Westminster) also had three goals to pace the Rams.

Junior attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) added two goals and two assists, while sophomore attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, Md./Severn) and senior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, Md./Leonardtown) each tallied a pair of goals.

Junior attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) and freshman midfielder Courtney Schwiegerath (Frederick, Md/Oakdale) each had single goals.

Junior netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) recorded 12 saves for the Rams, while Kaitlin Crouthamel had 14 saves for the Marauders.

Shepherd had a 36-30 edge in shots and a 16-15 advantage in draw controls. Millersville had a 31-25 edge in ground balls.

Shepherd falls to 7-4, while Millersville improves to 5-5. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to face Lock Haven for a 4 p.m. match.
