Shepherd Men's Tennis Wins Pair

ELKINS, W.Va. – Shepherd University won a pair of matches on the road on Sunday. The Rams recorded a 5-4 win over Davis & Elkins and added a 9-0 triumph over West Virginia State at Elkins.
Shepherd swept the doubles competition against Davis and Elkins. Junior Steve Kolumban (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) and senior Miachael Lesko (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) teamed for a 9-7 win at number one doubles. Senior Chris Pratt (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) and freshman Grant Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg) combined for an 8-2 win at number two doubles, while junior Steven Lesko (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and senior Al Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) earned an 8-5 win at number three doubles.
Junior Steve Kolumban (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) posted a 6-0, 6-3 win at number four singles and freshman Will Wheatley (Charles Town, WV/Washington) added a 6-0, 6-2 win at number six to give the Rams the narrow victory.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to UVa-Wise for a 3 p.m. match.
