Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 13-0 decision to eighth-ranked University of Charleston in MEC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
Augusto Maciel, Mike Hagarty, and Will Roberts each had a pair of goals to pace the Golden Eagles. Maciel added two assists, while Hagarty had one.
Junior goalkeeper Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) had five saves and freshman Nick Widmaier (Olney, Md./Sherwood) added three for the Rams. Justin Bryant (3 saves) and Fabian Veit combined on a shutout effort for the Golden Eagles.
Charleston had a 33-6 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Shepherd moves to 2-1-1, 0-1-0, in conference play, while Charleston improves to 4-0-0, 1-0-0. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Concord for a 4 p.m. contest.
