Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord rallied past Shepherd University for a 2-1 victory in MEC women's soccer action at Concord on Wednesday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when senior midfielder/defender Kelsey Propps (Sumerduck, Va./Liberty) scored an unassisted goal at the 45:30 mark.
The Mountain Lions tied the game at the 57:28 mark when Stacey Calder scored on an assist from Emily Cole.
Abby Barber found the back of the net at the 89:02 mark with an unassisted goal to lift Concord to the win.
Sophomore Anna Mueller (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) had three saves in goal for the Rams. Lacie Geisel posted eight saves for the Mountain Lions.
Shepherd had a 17-6 advantage in shots while corner kicks were even at 2-2.
Shepherd falls to 2-3-1, 0-2-0 in MEC play, while Concord improves to 3-2-0, 1-1-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
