Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.  –  Shepherd University handed UVa-Wise a 3-1 setback  in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night.  The Rams gained a 25-22, 27-25, 14-25, 25-19 victory.

Senior right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) had 16 kills and senior middle hitter Kayla Motheral (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls)  added 10 to lead the Rams. Junior right side/libero Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) had 10 kills and 13 digs.

Junior outside hitter Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had 18 digs, while senior setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg)  posted a match-high 43 assists.

Karley Allen had 17 kills  and Brittni Altmann added 18 digs to pace the Cavaliers.

Shepherd improves to 5-4, 1-0 in MEC action, while UVa-Wise falls to 3-5, 0-1.  The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Concord for a 1 p.m. match.
