Ransom Lifts Shepherd Men's Soccer Past West Virginia Wesleyan

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior midfielder Kyle Ransom (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson/California { Pa.}) scored off his own rebound with six seconds left in the first half to lift Shepherd University to a 1-0 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in MEC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior goalkeeper Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) had four saves in a shutout effort for the Rams, while Felipe Vial had a pair of saves for the Bobcats.

West Virginia Wesleyan had a 17-10 advantage in shots and an 8-7 edge in corner kicks.

Shepherd improves to 4-2-1, 2-2-0 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 2-3-1, 1-2-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Notre Dame College for a noon contest.
