Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Seger Bonifant scored a game-high 34 points to lead top-ranked West Liberty to a 102-83 win over Shepherd University n MEC men's basketball action at the West Liberty on Thursday night.

Steffen Davis (Accokeek, Md./Maret School) led the Rams with 18 points, while freshman guard
Skyler Roman Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) tossed in 16.
Freshman forward
Gavin McTavish (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll/Bridgton Academy) added seven points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Devin Hoehn added 14 points for the Hilltoppers. CJ Hester grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
West Liberty used a 29-5 run midway in the first half to opened up a 21-point lead and took a 50-41 lead into the break. Shepherd would get no closer than 10 points in the second half.
Shepherd hit on 30-of-77 field goals (39 percent) with a 5-of-16 (31.3 percent) effort from three-point range. The Rams drained 18-of-26 free throws (69.2 percent).
West Liberty connected on 36-of-65 field goals (55.4 percent) with a 15-of-36 effort (41.7 percent) from beyond the arc. The Hilltoppers were 15-of-23 from the foul line (65.2 percent).
West Liberty had a 48-38 edge on the boards. The Rams forced 25 turnovers and committed just 13.
Shepherd falls to 9-4, 4-3 in MEC play, while West Liberty improves to 12-0, 7-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to UVa-Wise for a 4 p.m. contest.
