Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University downed West Liberty, 3-1, in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Rams gained a 26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19 victory.

Shepherd improves to 9-9 overall, 4-2 in conference play, while West Liberty falls to 9-12, 2-4.

Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) recorded 15 kills, nine digs, and two aces for the Rams. Senior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) posted 12 kills and 16 digs, while junior outside hitter/right side Grace Simmons (Centreville, Va./Centreville/Fairfield) also had 12 kills.

Freshman setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) contributed 47 assists and 11 digs.

Raimey Benson had 13 kills and Alexis Boyd added 10 kills and 16 digs for the Hilltoppers.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to West Virginia State for a 7 p.m. match.
