Box Score INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shepherd University handed host West Virginia State a 3-0 setback in MEC volleyball action at West Virginia State on Friday night. The Rams gained a 25-15, 25-12, 25-21 victory.

Shepherd improves to10-9 overall, 5-2 in conference play, while West Virginia State falls to 6-11, 2-5.

Senior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) posted 11 kills and 16 digs to lead the Rams. Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) had nine kills, while senior outside hitter/opposite Anna Roper (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown) added five.

Sophomore libero/defensive specialist Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) had a team-best 20 digs and freshman setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 19 assists.

Edwina Barnett had seven kills and Brooke Cieslewski added 23 digs for the Yellow Jackets.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Charleston for an 11 a.m. match.
