Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – University of Charleston downed Shepherd University, 3-2, in MEC volleyball action at Charleston on Saturday. The Golden Eagles gained a 25-18, 17-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-8 victory.

Shepherd falls to10-10 overall, 5-3 in conference play, while Charleston improves to 10-8, 6-2.

Senior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) posted 11 kills and 16 digs to lead the Rams. Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) posted 14 kills and five aces, while freshman middle blocker/right side Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added 13.

Sophomore libero/defensive specialist Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) had a match-high 29 digs and freshman setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) contributed 38 assists.

Jordan Wittekind had 17 kills and Shiann White added 20 digs to pace the Golden Eagles.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Pitt-Johnstown for a 7 p.m. match.
