Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to West Liberty in MEC volleyball action at West Liberty on Saturday. The Hilltoppers earned a 25-13, 25-20, 25-23 victory.

Shepherd falls to 10-13 overall, 5-5 in MEC action, while West Liberty improves to 12-14, 5-5.

Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) had 11 kills and 14 digs for the Rams. Sophomore middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford)  added eight kills and freshman middle blocker/right side  Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) had seven.

Freshmen setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) recorded 32 assists.  Senior outside hitter/opposite Anna Roper (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) added 11 digs, while freshman defensive specialist Allison Crumling (York, Pa./Eastern York) had 10.

Stephanie and Amanda Leonard each had 10 kills to lead the Hilltoppers.

The Rams return to action next Friday when they host Urbana for a 7 p.m. match.
