Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University batted to a 2-2 tie with University of Charleston in MEC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.

Shepherd moves to 7-7-3 overall, 6-6-3 in conference action, while Charleston is now 9-3-5, 8-3-4.
 
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead into the break when freshman forward Samantha Leonard (Conowingo, Md.Perryville/Wingate) scored on scored on a header off a corner kick by senior midfielder Lexi Vondrak (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) at the 18:43 mark.
 
Charleston tied the game on an own goal at the 66:33 mark.
 
Shepherd took a 2-1 advantage when Leonard scored on a feed from Vondrak at the 70:43 mark.
 
Charleston forced overtime when Hannah Myers scored on a pass from Lauren Haven at the 78:21 mark.
 
Redshirt-freshman netminder Kelsey Rhoderick (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Campbell) (4) and freshman goalkeeper Christi Labella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) (5) and combined for nine saves for the Rams. Zoe Zyta recorded four saves for the Golden Eagles.
 
Charleston had a 19-9 advantage in shots, while Shepherd had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host Urbana at 3:30 p.m. for Senior Day.
