Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Top-ranked University of Charleston recorded a 2-0 win over Shepherd University in MEC men's soccer action at Charleston on Saturday.
 
Shepherd falls to 1-9-0, 0-6-0 in conference play, while Charleston improves to 8-1-0, 5-1-0.
 
Augusto Maciel scored on an assist from  Conor Branson at the 7:11 mark to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead.
 
Renan Ramos scored on a header off a cross from Bruno Oliveira at the 28:01 mark to complete the scoring.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Dmitre Snowdy (Waldorf, Md./North Point) recorded 10 saves for the Rams, while Fabian Veit did not record a save for the Golden Eagles.
 
Charleston had a 32-1 edge in shots and a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
The Rams return to action on Oct. 11 whne they travle to Concord for a 2 p.m. game.
