Shepherd Volleyball Downs Notre Dame

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University downed Notre Dame College, 3-1, in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Rams gained a 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-18 victory.

Shepherd improves to 12-13 overall, 7-5 in MEC action, while Notre Dame drops to 2-21, 1-11.

Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg/Frostburg State) led the Rams with a match-high 15 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) had 14 kills and a pair of  aces, while freshman middle blocker/right side Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) had 10 kills and a match-high six blocks.

Freshmen setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) recorded 36 assists and had 10 digs, while sophomore libero/defensive specialist Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) had a team-best 15 digs.

Lindsay Shirilla posted 12 kills and Tawnia Almaraz had a match-high 16 digs for the Falcons.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Fairmont State for a 7 p.m. match.
