SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University downed UVa-Wise in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Thursday. The Rams rallied for a 3-1 win (26-28, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17).
Shepherd improves to 14-16, 8-7 in conference play, while UVa-Wise drops to 15-15, 10-5.
Senior outside hitter
Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) had 15 kills and 10 digs to pace the Rams. Sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg/Frostburg State) contributed 12 and freshman middle blocker/right side
Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added 10.
Freshmen setter
Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) posted 50 assists and 10 digs, while sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) recorded a team-high15 digs.
Karlie Allen had a match-high 19 kills and 16 digs to lead UVa-Wise. Erin Anderson added 17 digs.
