BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan downed Shepherd University, 3-2, in MEC volleyball action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday night. The Bobcats gained a 14-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 15-13 victory.

Shepherd falls to 12-15 overall, 7-7 in MEC action, while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 12-16, 6-8.

Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) recorded a 20-20 with 20 kills and 21 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg/Frostburg State)  had 11 kills, while freshman middle blocker/right side Sophie Foster (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) recorded 10 kills and five blocks (one solo).

Freshmen setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) posted 47 assists and sophomore libero/defensive specialist Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) recorded 19 digs.

Hannah Moore had 16 kills and 19 digs to pace the Bobcats. Katyln Hoge added 31 digs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bowie State at 11 a.m. and Davis & Elkins at 1:30 p.m.
