HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Shepherd University split tennis action at Hilton Head on Wednesday. The Shepherd men gained an 8-1 win over Fairmont State, while the women suffered an 8-1 loss to McDaniel.

Sophomore Grant Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win in singles play to pace the men's team.

The Shepherd men improve to 5-5 on the season. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they face Messiah College at Hilton Head, S.C.

Freshman Molly Lovern (Bluefield, W.Va./Bluefield) had a 7-5, 6-3 win at number one singles to lead the women's team.
