Shepherd Women's Lacrosse Handles Notre Dame In Conference Opener

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) had three goals and two assists to lead Shepherd University to a 21-3 win over Notre Dame College in MEC women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Sunday.

The Rams got three goals and an assist from sophomore midfielder Haley Price (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), while sophomore attacker Colleen Monaghan (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) and sophomore attacker Brooke Hunley (Monrovia, Md./Linganore) each tallied three goals.

Junior attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, Md./Severn School) added two goals and an assist, while senior attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) netted a pair of goals.

Junior midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin), sophomore attacker Alex Green (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro), and freshman midfielder Courtney Matthews (Monrovia, Md./Urbana)  each had a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Theresa Lang (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and freshman defender/midfielder Sydney Bosmans (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown) each recorded a goal, while sophomore midfielder Courtney Schwiegerath (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) contributed an assist.

Emilia Ferrara, Darbie Barkman, and Ashlee Boyko each had goals for the Falcons.

Junior goalkeeper Savannah Shores (Trappe, Md./Easton) recorded four saves for the Rams, while Lauren Ragsdale had six saves for the Falcons.

Shepherd had a 32-11 advantage in shots and a 25-17 edge in ground balls. The Rams had a 14-12 advantage in draw controls.

Shepherd improves to 5-3, 1-0 in Mountain East Conference play, while Notre Dame falls to 2-4, 1-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to UVa-Wise for an 11 a.m. conference matchup.
