Box Score 2 SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Shepherd University dropped a pair of games to Notre Dame College in MEC baseball doubleheader action at Notre Dame on Sunday. The Falcons recorded a 6-2 win in game one and added a 4-1 victory in the nightcap.
Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead in the first inning in game one when Danny Beaver walked and later scored on a single by TJ Lett.
Shepherd tied the game in the second on a solo blast by senior first baseman
Dom Wyshinski (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial).
Notre Dame took a 5-1 lead with four runs in the third. Troy Findlay had a two-run double to key the rally.
The Falcons added a run in the fourth on an RBI-double by Blake Miller.
Shepherd completed the scoring in the seventh as senior second baseman
Zane Bard (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) led off with a single and later scored on a single by sophomore outfielder
Jonathan Sarty (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove/William & Mary).
Sarty went 3-for-4 to lead the Rams.
Miller was 2-for-3 to pace the Falcons.
Notre Dame scored two runs in the first on a two-run single by Miller and added two more in the second on a two-run single by Travis Smetana in the nightcap win.
Shepherd's lone run came in the fourth as senior third baseman
Bryce Shemer (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill/Colorado Mesa) walked and later scored on a single off the bat of Sarty.
Carney led the Rams with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate.

John Bentley (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) (5.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 Ks, 1 BB) (2-2) took the loss for the Rams. Carter Daniels (4.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 K, 2 BB) (1-0) gained the win, while Phil Ramos (2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 Ks, 0 BB) earned his third save of the year.
Shepherd drops to 23-7, 23-7 in conference play, while Notre Dame improves to 16-9, 16-6. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
