SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University split a pair of matches in MEC men's tennis action at Concord on Tuesday. The Rams dropped a 5-0 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan and later handed West Virginia State a 7-1 setback.

The Rams got singles wins from sophomore Grant Davis (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Martinsburg), senior Steve Kolumban (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), freshman Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington), and junior Lewis Charette (Ripon, Ga./Pike County) in the win over West Virginia State.

Kolumban teamed with senior Steven Lesko (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore)  for a win at number one doubles. Davis and Charette had a victory at number two doubles, while Thomas and sophomore Will Wheatley (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) posted a win at number three doubles.

Shepherd moves to 8-9 overall, 3-3 in conference action. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host for a 3:30 p.m. match.
