Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Manuel Del Rio scored on an assist from Micah Tatebe at the 89:12 mark to lift Wheeling Jesuit to a 2-1 win over Shepherd University in Mountain East Conference men's soccer action at Shepherd on Friday afternoon.
Shepherd falls to 0-3-0 overall, 0-2-0 in MEC play, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 2-1-1, 1-1-0.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead at the 69:09 mark when Brent Padlow scored on a feed from Aitor Iniguez de Heredia.
Freshman forward/midfielder
Justin Poole (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) found the back of the net for the Rams on an unassisted tally at the 88:56 mark to tie the game at 1-1.
The Rams nearly sent the game into overtime in the game's final seconds but a header shot by sophomore forward/midfielder
Justin Marshall (Adamstown, Md./Tuscarora) was saved by Cardinal goalkeeper Matthew McCormick.

Daniel Hussion (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) (2) and sophomore
Nick Widmaier (Olney, Md./Sherwood) (4) combined for six saves for the Rams. McCormick had four saves for the Cardinals.
Wheeling Jesuit had an 18-12 advantage in shots and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host Concord for a 1 p.m. contest.
