Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University went 1-1 in volleyball action at the Lock Haven University Tournament on Saturday. The Rams handed Salem International a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 26-24) setback and dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-23) decision to host Lock Haven.
Senior outside hitter/libero
Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had nine kills and senior outside hitter
Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) added eight in the win over Salem International (3-6).
Allen and sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) each had 15 digs, while freshman setter
Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) contributed 11 assists.
Rachel Hess led the Tigers with eight kills.
Allen had 11 kills, 10 digs, and two aces against Lock Haven (5-3). Anderson added 20 digs for the Rams.
Sarah Gornish had 13 kills and 10 digs for Lock Haven.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a 6 p.m. match.
