Box Score INDIANA, Pa. – Shepherd University rallied past Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a 3-2 win in volleyball action at IUP on Tuesday night. The Rams posted a 14-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-13 victory.
Shepherd improves to 4-4, while IUP falls to 4-2.
Shepherd jumped out to an 11-5 advantage in the final set, but the Crimson Hawks rallied to tie the game at 12-all and 13-all. The Rams gained the win behind a kill by freshman middle blocker
Bailey Conner (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) and an attack error by IUP's Alexia Anderson.
Senior outside hitter/libero
Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee College) had 11 kills and seven digs, while senior outside hitter
Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) added six kills and 23 digs for the Rams.
Sophomore middle hitter
Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) had eight kills and junior outside hitter/right side
Grace Simmons (Centreville, Va./Centreville) added seven.
Sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Kelsey Anderson (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) had 21 digs, while freshman setter
Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) contributed 33 assists and 15 digs.
Anderson had 19 kills and 11 digs, and Natalie Cignetti added 12 kills for the Crimson Hawks.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to the Wheeling Jesuit Tournament to face Kutztown at 11:30 a.m. and Slippery Rock at 7 p.m.
