Shepherd Volleyball Downs Glenville State in Home Opener

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University handed Glenville State a 3-0 setback in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Ram gained a 25-20, 25-8, 25-14 victory.

Shepherd improves to 6-7 overall, 1-0 in conference play, while Glenville State falls to 1-9, 0-1.

Senior outside hitter/libero Samantha Scroggins (Plainfield, Ill./Naperville North/Kishwaukee) had 13 kills and nine digs to pace the Rams. Senior outside hitter Taylor Allen (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) added 10 kills, eight digs, and four aces.

Freshman setter Cyera Dixon (Rushville, Ohio/Fairfield Union) contributed 28 assists, while sophomore middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) recorded eight kills and three blocks.

Rachel Morris, Cassidy Clark and Maura James each had four kills for the Pioneers. Allison Parski added 10 digs.

The Rams return to action next Friday when they travel to Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. match.
