Box Score URBANA, Ohio – Mike McFarland scored a goal and assisted on another to help lead Urbana to a 3-1 win over Shepherd University in MEC men's soccer action at Urbana on Wednesday afternoon.

Shepherd falls to 1-8-0, 0-5-0 in conference play, while Urbana improves to 6-1-1, 4-1-0.

McFarlane scored on a assists from  Alex Zanotti and Raoui Lassoued at the 3:26 mark to give the Blue Knights a 1-0 lead.

Lewis Dunne scored on an assist from McFarland at the 36:20 mark to give the Blue Knights a 2-0 lead at the break.

Urbana took a 3-0 advantage on an unassisted goal by Ben Fitzpatrick at the 49:19 mark.

Shepherd got on the scoreboard when sophomore midfielder George Novakowski (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) scored an unassisted goal at the 84:48 mark.

Sophomore goalkeeper Dmitre Snowdy (Waldorf, Md./North Point) recorded 11 saves for the Rams, while Nathan Jones (2) and Marcus Fallenback (1) teamed for three saves for the Blue Knights.

Urbana had a 30-7 edge in shots and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Charleston for a 4 p.m. game.
