Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame used four second half goals en route to a 5-1 win over Shepherd University in Mountain East Conference men's soccer action at Notre Dame on Tuesday afternoon.
Shepherd falls to 0-2 overall, 0-1 in MEC play, while Notre Dame improves to 3-0, 1-0.
The Falcons took a 1-0 lead on a free kick by Ryan Ware at the 18:12 mark.
Sophomore forward
Jeff Kammerer (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored on a penalty kick at the 21:17 mark to tie the game at 1-1.
The Falcons took a 2-1 lead at the 46:20 mark when Renan Troccoli scored on an assist from Leonardo Palva.
Troccoli added a second tally on an assist from Ware at the 55:02 mark.
Palva scored on an assist from Ware at the 69:04 mark and assisted on a goal by Raymar Klochko-Khoo at the 73:50 mark to complete the scoring
Sophomore
Nick Widmaier (Olney, Md./Sherwood) recorded nine saves for the Rams. Spencer Semple did not post a save in goal for the Falcons.
Notre Dame had a 34-1 advantage in shots and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
