Shepherd falls to 1-0, 0-1 in MEC action, while Notre Dame improves to 2-1, 1-0.

Alex DeFilippo scored an unassisted goal at the 29:20 mark to lift the Falcons to the win.

Freshman goalkeeper Christi Labella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded four saves for the Rams, while Louisa Rygh had five saves for the Falcons.

Notre Dame had a 13-7 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a noon contest.
