Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. – Lindsey Overbey scored 22 points and Kylie Molisee added 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Concord (5-15, 3-11 MEC) to a 90-86 win over Shepherd University (5-15, 4-10 MEC) in MEC women's basketball action at Concord on Saturday.
Sophomore guard
Morgan Arden (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove) led the Rams with a game-high 28 points. Arden hit on 11-28 field goals with a 4-of-10 effort from beyond the arc. She was 2-of-3 from the foul line. Arden added four assists and a pair of steals.
Freshman guard
Kristen Nunn (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) tossed in 16 points and freshman forward
Elizabeth Moorman (New Market, Md./Oakdale) had four points, a career-high eight rebounds, and a game-high six blocked shots.
Sophomore guard
Tiffany McKinney (Edgewater, Md./South River/Anne Arundel CC) scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed six boards, while junior guard
Cara Mason (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) added 14 points and a game-high five assists.
Danielle Catron added 13 points and six rebounds for the Mountain Lions.
Concord had a 46-40 lead at the break as Overbey (10) and Molisee (11) teamed for 20 first half points.
Shepherd cut the Concord lead to a point at 87-86 after a pair of free throws by Moorman with 1:23 remaining, but Molisee sunk three free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
The Rams connected on 41.7 percent (30-72) from the floor with a 31.8 percent (7-22) performance from three-point range. Shepherd hit on 86.4 percent of its free throws (19-22). Concord hit on 48.4 percent (31-64) of its field goals with a 44.4 percent (4-9) effort from beyond the arc. The Mountain Lions were successful on 85.7 percent (24-28) of their free throws.
Concord had a 42-33 rebounding advantage. The Rams forced 14 turnovers and committed 12.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
